Carnegie Hall鈥檚 Ensemble Connect has been called 鈥渢he new face of classical music for New York鈥� by The New York Times. In the season鈥檚 first performance, they perform Schubert鈥檚 lively 鈥淭rout鈥� quintet.
It鈥檚 a remarkable piece showcasing the composer鈥檚 gift for melody while highlighting
the uniquely beautiful possibilities unlocked by its unusual instrumentation. Also
featured is Barber鈥檚 Summer Music鈥攁n enduring favorite, and the composer鈥檚 sole chamber work for wind instruments鈥攁nd
Missy Mazzoli鈥檚 Still Life with Avalanche, which she describes as 鈥渁 piece about finding beauty in chaos, and vice versa.鈥�
