Charlotte Lamson Clarke '53 Chair in Art History

Established in 2018 with gifts from Charlotte Lamson Clarke '53 and Thomas K. Clarke, the Charlotte Lamson Clarke '53 Chair in Art History is endowed to recognize excellence among the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê faculty in the field of Art History and to promote the understanding and appreciation of art among Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's students.  The first Clarke Chair will be named in the 2019-2020 academic year.  Nominations for the Clarke Chair will be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will consult with the Promotions Committee in making a recommendation for appointment.  The recipient may be drawn from the current faculty in the Art History Department or recruited from outside the College.  Appointment to the Clarke Chair, while renewable, is intended to support the work of a number of faculty and will, therefore, be limited typically to terms of 5 years.
